ATLANTA 鈥 March 16, 2018 鈥 For the second year in a row, 100 percent (76) of mini传媒 (mini传媒) fourth-year medical students were among those matching to fill leading residency programs at hospitals across the nation.
Match Day is an annual rite of passage across the United States. Two-thirds (67 percent) of mini传媒 students matched to primary care specialties, a reflection of mini传媒鈥檚 training mission. Faculty, staff, students and families celebrated the achievements of the future doctors in a joyous heartwarming ceremony on the school鈥檚 campus.
During the ceremony, students received personalized letters showing where they matched for their residency. They matched to prominent medical centers across the country, including, but not limited to, Emory University School of Medicine, Kaiser Permanente, and Rutgers - New Jersey Medical School. This year also saw the largest percentage of students (23.7 percent, 18 students) selecting to stay at mini传媒 to continue their residency.
鈥淲hen you open that envelope, you open the door of your future, the door of opportunity, the door of a paycheck, the door of success and the door of history,鈥 said President and Dean Valerie Montgomery Rice, M.D. 鈥淵our future is bright, you came through these mini传媒 doors to make a difference, and to change the uneven landscape of health care, and we expect to see you do it!鈥
